Arandis Town Council Secures Sponsorships for 20 NIMT Students in Partnership with Valencia Uranium (Pty) Ltd

The Arandis Town Council is proud to announce a significant milestone in its commitment to education and skills development. In partnership with Valencia Uranium, the Council has successfully secured sponsorships for 20 students at the Namibia Institute of Mining and Technology (NIMT). These sponsorships will cover the students’ registration fees, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their opportunity to gain technical skills and contribute meaningfully to Namibia’s workforce.
This initiative underscores the Council’s dedication to empowering the youth of Arandis and beyond, fostering a skilled workforce that aligns with the needs of the mining, logistics, and industrial sectors. The generous contributions from Valencia Uranium reflect their strong commitment to corporate social responsibility and national development.
The official handover of the sponsorships to NIMT took place today, 19 March 2025 at NIMT, marking a milestone in public-private sector collaboration for education and training. Arandis Town Council extends its heartfelt gratitude to Valencia Uranium (Pty) Ltd, which has invested N$80,000 to support 20 students, for their dedication to the future of Namibia’s workforce.
This partnership stands as a testament to the power of collective action in shaping a prosperous and skilled nation. This Handover was done by Mr. Pine Van Wyk, the Director and Country Manager Project from Valencia Uranium to the Executive Director of NIMT, Mr. Ralph Bussel.
The Mayor of Arandis, His Worship Barnabas Kambara, expressed his appreciation, stating: “Education is the key to unlocking potential and creating lasting change. Through this sponsorship, we are not only providing financial assistance but also investing in the future of Arandis and Namibia. I commend Valencia Uranium for their commitment, and I urge other stakeholders to follow suit in empowering our youth with the skills needed to drive our economy forward.”
On behalf of the council, Mayor Kambara invites potential stakeholders to invest in this initiative, which aims to assist families with registration fees and enhance access to technical education.
