Arandis Town Council Engages Cleanergy Solutions Namibia with Future Green Hydrogen Professionals

Arandis Town Council recently undertook a productive and insightful visit to Cleanergy Solutions Namibia, one of the country’s pioneering green hydrogen facilities located near Walvis Bay. Accompanying the Council on this educational tour were students from the African Institutional Management Services (AIMS) and the Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology (NIMT), currently enrolled in Green Hydrogen programmes.
The visit forms part of the Council’s broader initiative to expose young people to emerging sectors of the economy, particularly those aligned with sustainable development and Namibia’s green energy transition. By involving students specializing in green hydrogen, the Council aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical exposure to real-world innovations in Namibia’s evolving energy landscape.
Although the Cleanergy Solutions team was busy with the commissioning of the plant, an important milestone that temporarily limited access to core facilities, the delegation was warmly received. Participants were able to observe operations from a designated viewing deck, providing a comprehensive overview of the site. An informative briefing was also delivered, covering the technological processes behind green hydrogen production, safety protocols, and Namibia’s positioning in the global hydrogen market.
The Council extends its sincere appreciation to Cleanergy Solutions Namibia for hosting the delegation during such a critical phase of operations. The professionalism, curiosity, and active engagement displayed by the students from AIMS and NIMT are also highly commendable.
This initiative underscores the Arandis Town Council’s ongoing commitment to fostering innovation, supporting youth development, and contributing to national objectives on climate action and economic diversification.
The political delegation was represented by Councillors Isabella Kavedjii and Cecilie //Hoabes, while the management team included the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Bennet Norris, and Corporate Services Manager, Mr. Jan Strauss. Also in attendance were Mr. Randy Erkana, Principal of NIMT, and Mr. Charles Gaweseb, Chief Operations Officer of AIMS. Cleanergy Solutions Namibia was represented by Abigail Raubenheimer and Sathish Ravi.
